Carcus's tail flicked irritably. He had killed another cat. Only this time, a comrade. A cat that he himself had under his reign, a cat that he had trained. He narrowed his eyes in disgust. He had had to kill her. How could he have bred such a terrible cat? The coal black eyes that carried so much hate caught fire as they turned to a nearby bush. Some one was there. He could scent them. He took in a deep breath then snarled unwelcomingly. "Icarus, I know you're there." His near pink ears flicked back and forth while waiting for the other tom to appear.

A shadow stepped out of a rather scraggly clump of bushes, closely followed by a small grey cat that was visibly older than Carcus. He had scars criss-crossed across his muzzle and almost an entire ear missing; a small limp followed his back left leg. “And I know you’ve got blood on your muzzle,” Icarus retorted with a quirked eyebrow, after setting down a mouse at his own paws protectively. Large, sharp teeth were visible in his mouth and unsheathed claws rested on the prey lightly. “I hope you didn’t take on one of those damned mountain goats again. Really, I like those guys. They’re so funny…”

Carcus smirked, "To their luck, I didn't feel like having to plug my ears while eating my prey today. I swear, they keep talking even when they're dead." He kneaded the groud with his half shredded off paw. "How can you be quite so sure I even killed anything. I might have just stuck my nose into somewhere I don't belong." He shook his head flicking off blood revealing scratches from some thorned bushes he had had to travel through. He nodded to the mouse, "Be a good fellow and share that. This blood is definitely not from any type of prey I would wish to eat." He took a step toward the small mouse, baring his teeth in a low snarl as if to say. 'You'll pay if I don't get at least half, I'm not in a generous mood today.'

Icarus gave Carcus a surprised look, but said nothing until he demanded for prey. A loud laugh, one that would prove fatal to anyone unable to fight something attracted by the noise, echoed across the mountain plateau until Icarus doubled over with the laughter. “Give you my prey?” He chuckled after a moment, still fighting off the giggles. “As if, youngster! I raised you. Get your own damn prey and leave an old cat to enjoy his in peace.”

Carcus raised one eyebrow and let loose on claw, holding it to the elderly tom's neck. "Raised me? Old cat, you probably weren't even young enough when I was born to be able to handle the oh so unenergetic bundle of fur I was." He grinned evily, a fire plunging once again into his coal black eyes. "There's little prey these days. You're lucky enough you aren't dead yet after that remark. Remember. I train our fighters for a reason. Because I'm the best one." He let the second to last word linger for a while, sending it out with a venemous hiss.

A small white tom sat in a nearby bush, watching silently as the two older cats fought over their prey. His tail flicked back and forth, and his narrow, icy eyes went from one tom to the other as they talked. He was still young; not even really old enough to hunt properly on his own yet, but he was alone. His paw-steps were as light as a trained adult, and his hearing was precise and perfect. He was tempted to dash out and snatch the small mouse that laid under the elder cat's paws, but the two of them looked like very strong cats, so he remained still. Even with his small size and speed, they looked very dangerous, especially to a cat his size. He shifted his paws slightly; getting stiff from sitting in the same position for such a long time, but when he set his paw down, a loud snap echoed from under his paw. His eyes widened in fear. There was no way the two of them couldn't have heard that. He attempted to back out of the bush, and run, but the fur on his back and tail got tangled into the bush, and he was trapped.

The moment he heard the twig Carcus's eyes instantly left the mouse, scanning the area quickly for anything, anything at all, that might have caused the noise. He unsheathed all of his claws now, putting his paw to the ground raising his maw to sniff the air. That's when he caught it. The unfamiliar scent. The scent was fresh, too fresh for his liking. He narrowed his eyes. It was a tom, that much he knew. The cat didn't seem likely to be very big, nor very old. It was unnerving to know he hadn't scented this foul creature before. His eyes narrowed even more, into deadly slits before hissing lowly so that only Icarus could hear him. "Some one's here. And very close."

The white tom attempted to pull himself free without making a noise, but couldn't get his fur untangled from the bush. Finally, with a growl, he yanked himself out, crashing backward onto a pile of brambled with an obnoxiously loud snap. His eyes widened in fear again, and he scrambled to get upright. When he got to his paws, he began to back away slowly. He had no clue which direction he was supposed to go to get away from there, and his heart was pounding in his chest. These were dangerous cats. He suddenly turned and flung himself up a nearby tree and scrambled onto a low branch in attempt to hide himself, though his white fur stood out horribly against the leaves and branches.

Carcus whipped his head in another direction as suddenly a loud noise came from there. He snarled, showing his sharp but yellow teeth while hissing, "Come out.. or you'll regret it!" He padded slowly toward the bush the noise had been coming from his claws clicking against the ground all the while. He grinned evily. "Out you come kitty kitty." There was pure hatred in his voice, venom. He glared at the bush with blazing eyes. He would slash that cat to pieces if he didn't come out this instant. If not kill him.. attempt to.

Ooc;; Imma just reply to the most current post... ignore the older ones, pretend Icarus just sat there like a dumb rock without doing anything until now xD
At the quick flash of white just out of the corner of his eyes, Icarus knew, just knew, that somehow he wouldn't be able to eat his dinner in the end. Sighing, the old dragged himself to his feet and looked up the tree wearily, almost bored, while Carcus taunted the newcomer with an ugly voice. Icarus said nothing, istead just standing there, swishing his tail back and forth like a spider on a string in the wind. "Hey Carcus," he finally muttered, teasing in his voice and sparkling eyes. "The cat's in the tree, not the bushes. And you say you're the best..." He snorted and looked to the white rogue. "Think we're dogs or something?"

Carcus glared at Icarus then smiled slightly. "I said I'm the best fighter, never said anything about scenting." He winked in a corny way, but even so it looked evil, maybe even wrong, because of his scars and his permanently squinted eyes. He hissed up at the cat in the tree, now realizing that he was right. It WAS a tom, and of course it was young. Probably wouldn't stand a chance against ol' Icarus! Now that.. was sad. He chuckled slightly to himself then leapt at the tree snarling, "Icarus is right my friend." He completely ignored the fact that Icarus hadn't even said what he was about to say he had said and added, "We're not dogs. We're much, much more dangerous." He flashed a dazzling smile that looked more like an evil grimace before slowly and casually advancing up to the tom.

The small tom backed up on the branch awkwardly until it bounced dangerously, and his paws barely fit on the branch. He was a loss of words, and it wasn't like he could do anything. "Umm... " he stuttered. "I didn't mean to... come across you guys..." he mewed, trying to come up with something quickly that wouldn't get him killed. "I was just passing through!"

Carcus grinned, "Poor kitty. That's what they all say when they're this close to dying." He snapped at the tom, even though he was rather far away, his sharp yellow teeth glowing uglily in the sunlight. He began progressing with slightly more speed. His fur was puffed up with anger and he tried to look much more intimidating than he already was, which he considered rather hard for he looked so dashingly deadly already. His claws raked at the tree bark as he finally reached the same branch as the loner that was 'just passin through.' Two dead cats in two days, this was going to be interesting. He glanced down at Icarus hissing, "If he jumps you chase after him and kill him... that is if I don't catch him first."

Almost as if hi mind and spirit left his body, Icarus' eyes grew blank and serious at the same time as he continued to stare up at the newcomer. It was almost a dispassionate stare, interrupted by the smallest of shrugs. "No one ever means to come across us," he said simply, just after Carcus' announcement. "They just do." Then he smiled, a detached, almost frighteningly vacant smile that the killer always wears before slashing towards a victim. "Judging by your puffed-out tail and stammering voice, I'd guess you're scared. Aw, poor kittypet. Care to tell us why you're out here, all by your poor wittle wonesome self?" He adopted a pouting, mocking look. "It might prolong your life."

A short bit of anger flashed through the tom, wiping out the fear that pounded through him. "I'm not a kittypet," he hissed bitterly. "I never was one of those worthless furballs, and never will be." His fur was raised, and his ears were back, but no longer with fear. He hated being mocked.
ooc:// I would make it longer but I can't think of anything to say!

Carcus raised his eyebrows in amusement. "Haha, Icarus you made the wittle kittypet angry." He paused grinning widely at Icarus. "Defiance is always the first step to confession." He added to the younger tom with a wink, once again putting on a smile that looked more like a grimace than anything. He let out an even more amused chuckle as he saw the tom's white fur puff up in anger. For some odd reason he liked this kittypet, he had spirit. That is for some one not trained.

The white tom growled. "I'm not a stupid kittypet!" he shouted. He dug his claws into the branch, glaring at Carcus. "Or have you been attacked too many times in the face to get that through you're thick skull?!" He knew that would get them angry, and was already braced to dodge a sudden pounce of an attack. His back was arched slightly and his legs were bent, so he could easily leap up to the next branch up, or straight down to the ground if needed. His fur continued to rise, getting more and more irritated and afraid every moment he was in contact with these cats.

“I did, didn’t I?” Again, Icarus smiled that frightening, detached smirk as he looked to the increasingly poofy cat. “Oh dear, oh dear, whatever shall I do…” He sighed, then sat down to ease his aching joints. He had been jumping across rocks all day long, looking for dinner and a place to eat. Of course, once both were achieved, he had run into Carcus and then interrupted by the white tom, whom they still didn’t know the name of. Not that he really cared. He just wanted dinner. Dinner? Icarus, losing interest in the other two, pricked his ears forwards as he faced another directed, obviously hearing something. “There’s a… frog, here on the mountain,” he murmured, looking up to Carcus with a surprised expression. “Frog?”

The white tom became slightly distracted, but didn't take his eyes off of Carcus. "A frog...?" he asked, confused. "What's a frog doing here in the mountains...?" He wanted to prick his ears to see if the cat was lying to distract him, but he didn't want to get caught off guard by Carcus. He took another step back off of the branch, and suddenly a snap came from under his paws, and he fell quickly to the ground. He landed with a hard thump. He knew if he got up and ran they would just run after him and catch him, so instead he got off of the ground and continued to watch Carcus.

Carcus blinked, but didn't take his eyes off of the white tom either. He meowed fiercely to Icarus, almost in an echo of the white tom's words. "A frog? What the.. ?" His sentence was cut off as the branch tip broke off sending the white tom to the ground. Carcus followed him with cold black eyes, and when the white tom his the ground he leaped off of the branch using the trunk for only a few seconds. He dared not take his sight from the white tom. He could attack, he could run. He was a complete mystery, there was no telling what he would do.
