The black she cat awoke to the angry hiss of her companion, curled in a circle loosely around her neck.
She moaned. "Venom, that was the best sleep I've had in moons."
The black rat snake showed no sympathy. "We've reached them. The clans."
Poisontail jerked awake - they had been looking for a clan ever since their own home clan, Islandclan, was destroyed by a fire. Some survivors had made it, but Poisontail separated from them, for the survivors became kittypets and loners.
"Well, I hope we're not on their territory. My pelt will be flayed." Poisontail yawned.
"Too bad. We are." Venom countered. "And here come some warriors now."
