Feel another’s emotions, their sorrow and their joy? I have in my short life, never felt such a powerful connection to anything or anyone, not even my beloved Companion Alistair, as that the one I had with my twin. Ah, what a beautiful thing she was! Flying across the forest floor with the stars in her eyes and such a wildness that captured my heart tighter than the Silverpelt does with others. She is my guardian angel, my beloved, and I love her with all the being I possibly could.
Pumpkinkit, my beautiful, beautiful sister and other half. I love you.
But alas, only a moon prior she fell ill with something not even our trusted medicine cats can’t recognize and even though I loathe to recognize it, I know her future is naught. Too much pain has she suffered, and too few good days does she experience any longer. It has been too long since she has seen the sky and breathed in fresh air, or even lay by my side. No, her fight is numbered and I know it, though I wish it weren’t… blast StarClan, don’t you realise how lost I am without her? Even as I speak, I feel my faith wavering; how could you sanction such anguished suffering?

And I don't even know you[/I][/center] I never meant to betray the trust of my mother, or even that of myself. I honestly didn’t, but somehow it did happen and I’m somewhat confused as to how, even with as guilty as I feel. I mean, I was always the one that Oakface trusted to stay in camp and not make trouble, the one she didn’t have to worry about. For all the trust I had with her though, I still resented it, as all her attention was diverted to the ever so troublesome Flamekit and Pumpkinkit. I hated that I was left alone at the nursery like a disobedient kit. Alone! Do you know how much that burned my pelt? I was lonely almost everyday, a feeling I hate more than anything. Sure I had Lady, but how much company can a mute ladybug be? Honestly.
When I met him… him, I just… oh, how my heart soars at the thought of that magnetic, mysterious tom! Quaintpaw is so much different than Flamepaw and Pumpkinkit; he’s serious, serene, holds a certain dignity… and just… words fail me. Quite honestly, words fail me. He’s just so different than what I’m used to, and really, from the rest of the warriors, I expect. Many of the cats look at him oddly, and Flamepaw was even disgusted that I was conversing with him! Disgusted, can you imagine? I don’t care though. My soul has been given wings, wings made of the approaching emotion he has instilled in me… [/size][/color] |
