Sapphire is a beautiful slender Bluejay, with light sky blue feathers on her back and stormy gray feathers on her chest. She has an unusually long beak and a tail tipped with white.

Thick, sleek pelted very dark brown tabby with blue-green eyes.

Darkshadow has inherited many of his physical traits from his family. He is large and very muscular for his age, somewhat intimidating. His pads are hard, giving him the ability to walk along hard surfaces for long periods of time without hurting them. His tail is long and slim with many stripes, like his father's. He has his mother's long whiskers, a brilliant white. His shoulders are broad and very furry, perfect for Sapphire to perch on. His skin and fur are thick, therefore he gets cut less easily.
His fur is a very dark brown with black stripes. Usually it is hard to distinguish the color of his stripes from the color of his fur, but when the sun hits it right the brown fur shines brightly. He has a light tan underbelly and paws to match, unusual for a tabby. He also has tan rings around his ears and eyes, and a tan muzzle. His eyes are very bright, a mix between his mother's and his father's. They are splashes of blues and greens blended together in many spots, giving his expression a very stunning look.
He is part Manx, which means his back legs are very strong and his claws are very powerful- they don't break easily. The strong back legs enable him to leap higher than the usual cat, but since they are longer than his front legs, they give a slightly angled look to his back. His mew is very deep, a trait he gets from his grandfather.
P e r s o n a l i t y:
Darkshadow's first loyalty is to his Clan. You won't find another cat who is more willing to risk his life over and over again, do whatever he is needed to, defend or fight for any reason, all for the place of his birth. His secret ambition is to become deputy, but he's terrified of facing the huge responsibility of being leader. Of course, he's too shy to share his deepest thought with anyone but Sapphire.
Yes, shyness. It's very unlikely for Darkshadow to speak unless he is spoken to when you first meet him. It's only after you stick with him, practically gluing yourself to his side, that he starts to notice a little bit more. He'll gradually become more talkative, and if you're lucky, might ask for a hunt or a chat once in a while. Once you really become a friend, he'll protect you like his Clan- like his family. The reason he has few friends is that not many cats are brave enough to put up with him long enough to get to that point.
When you do get to know him, Darkshadow can be very kind. Although, no matter how hard you try, you can't get him to have a very good sense of humor. He's serious most of the time, and takes a lot of things literally. He likes to show off in front of younger cats, and would like to some day have his own apprentice. He's got mixed feelings about kits, but wonders what it would be like to have one of his own.
Sapphire is his best friend in the world, often he'll retreat up a tree and talk with her, or just sit, for hours. She doesn't often leave his side, making it easy for him never to be alone. He'd be miserable without her, and takes every precaution to keep her safe.
H i s t o r y:
Darkshadow was born and raised in HorizonClan. His parents died when he was a young kit, so he has no memory of them. An older queen, now also deceased, nursed him until he was old enough to become an apprentice. Sapphire has stayed with him the whole way through, he confides all his feelings to her.
O v e r a l l:
Right from the start of his life, Darkshadow didn't have many friends. After the unfortunate death of both of his parents in a battle, there was no one to make him talk to other cats, to make him socialize. He learned all there was to learn about the Warrior code, but didn't know much about friendship. Gradually, with the help of Sapphire, he learned to talk to other cats. Even then, he doesn't speak out of term. Though, despite his depressing life, he's not a sad cat. He's perfectly content, barely ever angry. He'd be fine living by himself, with only Sapphire for company, for his entire life, but he appreciates the few friends he meets along the way.

Wind howled through the forest, creating an eerie wailing noise that added to the tension of the night. Midnight sat in the tallest tree, fur fluffed up against the cold. His amber eyes gleamed with hatred as he looked at the small village past the forest, where warm lights shone and cheery voices laughed. Humans. They were evil. One look at the spotted pelts of his family, swinging in the breeze, hammered to their houses, and a growl rose in his throat. Once he was done with them, they'd wish they had never been born.
Almost silently Midnight slipped from the branch and descended down the bark, claws gripping the rough wood on the way down. He hit the ground with a barely audible thud, quickly glancing up to a tree nearby. Another leopard was making his way down, following his example. "Midnight," he said as he padded up to his leader, dipping his head in respect.
Midnight nodded, acknowledging his presence. "Forest. I need you to assemble the others."
"Yes, right away, sir," Forest stuttered quickly, pounding away through the darkness. Moments later, he returned, with many leopards behind him.
"It is time to teach the humans a lesson," he announced, his high roar of a voice echoing off the trees. "I will not lose any more of you. We've put up with this for too long."
"Will we attack? When?" an eager voice shouted out from the crowd. Midnight turned his head toward the young leopard, taking in her eager expression.
"Patience, my daughter. Listen to Midnight," Forest growled quietly.
"We will attack at dawn, while they are sleeping," Midnight announced. "And we will prevail!"
"War!" Came the excited cries of the big cats. "We will avenge the deaths!"
"The deaths of our parents!"
"Our children!"
"Our friends!"
"Our family!"
