A light glowing aura reflected off of the moon and off of the surface of the new fallen snow, ice covered the trees giving them a gemlike pristine elegance that no diamond could match. The forest was silent as the black sky sprinkled large fluffy wads of snow.. not a sound broke the quiet. Silently, a she cat parts from her den within the Horizonclan camp. Her eyes beheld the wonderful scene for a spell, taking in the glittering luminescent snow, not yet touched by waken paws. Reluctant to mark on such a perfect and white canvas, she padded off of the stone floor and onto the soft cold snow.
She made her way through the clearing and through the underbrush.. Not a creature of the ground stirred, but above a muttered flutter of silent feathers cut through the air. Featherstep slowed at the edge of camp, waiting only a moment before a beautiful snowy owl lighted on a frozen log a bit off of the path. Hello friend of my heart thought Featherstep, letting the feeling of greeting and love channel her body. In return, she could feel the return greeting stir the air that none but her was meant to feel.
Out loud, she purred quietly as she tried to picture the warm bodies of mice and squirrel for her dear friend .. Without another word, she padded swiftly through the forest to hunt, the owl followed. Overhead the darkness broke into a deep purple and rose, signaling dawn.

A fluffy tom sat by the icy banks of the stream, the thin ice lining the edges broke into the soft whisper of the running stream below it. His eyes stared at one side of the water to the other. Nothing could be the same as Horizonclan territory. He laid down on his side, bushing his tail over the surface of the ice. The cold reaching every point in the young warriors nerves, chilling all the way up to his shoulders.
Beside his white and orange mangled pelt sat the small mouse that was always with him, her eyes black, beady, and her thin gray fur matted down to keep her warm.
"I am so glad spring is getting closer." She murmured shuffling her forpaws over her nose in a tighty cleaning then ruffling her fur to brush the remaining snow off her pelt.
Stormfeather laughed, his laugh like one you could never forget. "Well, shouldn't you be in your hole keeping warm like all other mice?"
River sneered and clambered up the large tom. "Well, you know, I can just leave you to fend for yourself, you know. Leaving you wouldn't hurt me a bit."
"Yeah, but you would miss me too much."
"No I wouldn't."
Stormfeather laughed again while flicking his tail softly over the grass that had seemed to make it's way out of the murderous snow.
River raised her head and began to sniff the air, the soft wind rising and falling, and the scent that it carries was that of Featherstep, a fellow warrior of Horizonclan.
"A cat's coming" She spoke softly, her tail twitching, Stormfeather never paid much attension to his surroundings unless he was looking for something in parculiar, so River had to be his eyes, ears, and all senses when he was lazing about.
Stormfeather, lowered his ears slightly, he wasn't that socialable, but he tried most of the time...

Featherstep slowed as Caryn let out a low cry.. she had found prey! The shecat slumped into a crouch to stalk the prey. Since Caryn could not speak, she communicated by sending her thoughts, emotions and sight to Featherstep. She creeped up the hill, Caryn showed her a small mouse at the edge of the river. Caryn sent Featherstep the thought of her wanting do the catch.. Featherstep was about to answer when a scent drifted up the hill into her nostrils.. She sensed her clanmate Stormfeather, she knew he had a companion. a mouse! before Caryn took off to hunt, she let out a low hiss. Caryn don't you dare! she is friend not food! The owl landed and ruffled he glorious feathers, agitated. Confusion and irritation flowed from her. To Caryn, all mice was fair game. Caryn behave yourself, or i swear i will turn you into fresh kill..
She padded down the hill to the pair by the river.. Silently, Caryn glided in her wake and alighted on a nearby tree over looking the scene. Featherstep approached the two, and sat neatly to talk. Hello Stormfeather, River.. how are you this fine morning? She said in a friendly tone.
